Behind the name
STATISTICALLYINCONVENIENT.
The name for what I write, and eventually film, about the body, building companies, freedom and attention. I’m Malcolm Nesset. You may also know me as Mr. Outlier.

Why this name?
I’m more interested in possibilities than in fitting in.
I want to build companies. I want to train hard. And I want to go out, dance and meet people. Without alcohol.
Statistically Inconvenient is my name for that combination. This is where I bring together the experiences that don’t belong on a company website: what drives me, the choices I make, and what they actually cost.
Mr. Outlier is the signature I’ve used in earlier writing and experiments with attention. The name expresses curiosity and ambition; it isn’t a calculation of how rare I am.
